1. Can I take the site I built with Web Piston and host it somewhere else?
    

You need to have the site hosted with Web Piston to have a website. You cannot build the site and have it hosted somewhere else.

2. Can I update my site using an FTP program?
     You cannot use an FTP program to update your site. You must use the Web Piston tools to update your site.

3. Is there a contract to sign? Can I cancel my site at anytime?
    

There are not any long term contracts to sign and you can cancel your site at anytime.

4. When can I find my site in search engines such as Google and Yahoo?
    

It can take up to two weeks before the search engines find your site but it usually takes less than a week. Once we submit your site to the search engines, it is up to them when they find your site and put you in their listings. People can still go to the site by typing in your domain name in your address bar but you have to wait for the search engines to pick up on it.


To check to see if you are in a search engine, type in your domain name and if you see your site listed in the search results page, that means your site is in that particular search engine.

5. How can I change my domain name?
     There is a one time fee of $19.95 to get another domain name. If you would like to do this, let us know what domain name you would like and we can change the domain name for you within 24 hours. You will not lose any of the content you have on your current site.

6. How can I cancel my website?
    

Please follow these instructions to cancel your website. We do not accept cancellations via phone or email.


Login to your site at http://login.webpiston.com, put in your email address and put in your password. When you are logged in, click on "Cancel My Site" at the bottom right of the screen. If you see a cancel button on the bottom left, click on that and then click on the cancel assistant button. Then you will see the "Cancel My Site". Click on that and follow the instructions.

7. I don't see the changes that I made on my website, what is wrong?
    

As soon as you publish your website, your live site will get updated. If you are using Internet Explorer and you don't see your sites changes, it could be that your browser isn't updating in time.


Try the following steps:

  1. In your Internet Explorer window click on "Tools" and then click on "Internet Options".

  2. Click the "Delete Cookies" button and then click "OK".

  3. When that is done click the "Delete Files" button and then click "OK".

  4. When that is done, click the "Settings" button and on the next screen, make sure that the option for "Check for newer versions of stored pages" is set to "Every Visit To The Page".

  5. Click "OK" twice and then shut down the Internet Explorer window and then reopen it and try the website again.

If you are using Firefox, follow the steps listed below.

  1. In Firefox, click on "Tools" at the top of the page.

  2. Click "Clear Private Data".

  3. Make sure the following options are checked:



  4. Click the "Clear Private Data Now" button.

  5. Shut down Firefox, reopen it and try the website again.

8. Can I pay any other way besides with a credit card?
    

Yes you can send us either a check or a money order.


You have two options for paying via check or money order:


  1. 6 months upfront payment - Price $119.70

  2. 12 months upfront payment - Regular price $239.40 (12 months * 19.95) Discounted upfront price $203.49 (a 15% discount)

9. How can I change the credit card information on file for my website?
    

To update the credit card information for your website, login to your site at http://login.webpiston.com and click on "My Payment Information".

10.  How can I update the shipping information for my products?
    

You have to setup your shipping rules through your PayPal account.


  1. Go to http://www.paypal.com and login to your PayPal account.

  2. Click on the "Profile" at the top of the screen.

  3. Click the Shipping Calculations link in the Selling Preferences column. Then follow the on screen instructions to setup your shipping rules. If you need further assistance with getting this setup, contact PayPal at 1-888-221-1161.

11.  Can I use my own domain name for my website?
    

Yes you can use your own domain name if you already own one. What you will need to do is contact the company where you own your domain name and have them point the domain name to the following name servers:


ns1.rivergy.com


ns2.rivergy.com


After they have pointed your domain name to those name servers, call Tech Support at 1-866-315-7483 or email at support@webpiston.com and let them know.

12.  I am having trouble uploading images. What is wrong?
    

When you are trying to upload photos to the site, make sure they are .jpg files. If they are anything else than that, they may not load successfully. You cannot upload Word documents or PDF files as images.


Also make sure the name of the file only has numbers or letters. If the name of the file has any special characters in it (such as: # ' $ *), it will not load properly.

13.  How many email accounts can I have for my website?
     You can create up to 25 email addresses that match your website's domain name.

14.  How do I view the statistics for my website?
    
  1. Login to your site at http://login.webpiston.com.

  2. Click on "View Your Statistics" at the top right of the screen.


If you do not see the "View Your Statistics" link when you login to your site, please call Web Piston Technical Support at 1-866-315-7483 or at Support@WebPiston.com and they will put this on your site for you.

15.  I am having trouble editing my site using Internet Explorer 8
    

If you are having trouble editing your site using Internet Explorer 8, you need to run Compatibility Mode within Internet Explorer.


  1. From the Command Bar in Internet Explorer at the top left or right of the page, select Tools.

  2. Select the "Compatibility View Settings" option.



  3. Add webpiston.com and click the "Add" button.



  4. Click "Close" and then shut down Internet Explorer 8 and reopen it and you should be able to edit your site.
